Shri Gogras Gojivdan Mandal is a registered cow shelter located in the village Mhasa which is ~100 kms from Mumbai. Founded in 1925, we provide shelter, fodder, medical aid and a healthy environment to cows. Since inception we have given shelter to over 65,000 cows.

Diseased and aged cows are of no value to the farmers/dairies and hence they are either sold to the slaughterhouses or abandoned. We rescue these cows by either outbidding the slaughter houses or rescuing them from the roads where they were abandoned. We then go on to provide fodder, shelter and necessary medical aid to the destitute cows. Since these cows are of no further value in dairies/farms, Gogras Gojivdan is the old age home for the cows where they spend the remainder of their life in peace and tranquility.

At any given moment, we have around 300 cows in our shelter. Majority of them are old, injured, or physically disabled. Our team works tirelessly to ensure that the cows are well fed and properly looked after. We do not believe in commercializing the cow shelter by selling milk or monetizing the cows in any way and hence we are completely reliant on your generous donations.
